So I watched the Emmy's tonight, although I got a late start. Between putting the kids to bed and my husband watching football, it was well into the second hour of the show. I missed my favorite part, the red carpet arrivals. I have been trying to look online to see all of the dirt about who was best/worst dressed but I have not had much luck yet. I will continue on my quest tomorrow and days to come, looking for inspiration in the fashion department.
Here are my thoughts of what I did get to see of the show. I loved Drew Barrymore's hair and makeup, I thought she looked very elegant. I give props to Heidi Klum, are you serious...she looked amazing! I think my favorite so far is Jennifer Love Hewitt's yellow dress, long hair and beautiful earrings.
Speaking of jewelry, here is what I saw. Stunning drippy chandelier earrings, with hair worn up and down. We had an equally stunning pair of Hearts on Fire diamond earrings in our store not so long ago. I tried them on, and yes they are heavy, but man they make you feel like a celeb! I also saw lots of bracelets. Wide diamond cuffs and bangle bracelets mostly.
The most exciting jewelry I saw...huge gemstone rings! I saw celebs wearing really big colored gemstone rings, some of them with more than one on. The best part, we just got a fun selection of really big colored gemstone rings in the store. You have to stop in and try them on. You could totally be rocking a huge gemstone ring just like the celebrities do!
Check back soon, I will post pictures of these super cool rings. ~Melissa

9/11 ~ We will never forget.
I remember 8 years ago today coming to work. It was a Tuesday morning. It was an exciting day for 2 of my fellow employees. They would be flying to Las Vegas to attend Hearts on Fire University. This is an exciting training seminar put on by the Hearts on Fire company to teach us all about their diamonds. We were putting out the jewelry in the morning before the store opened, and we got a phone call. "Turn on the news" they said. "A plane hit the World Trade Center in NY." We turned on the Today Show and began watching the days events unfold. Our first thought was our 2 employees that were going to fly to Las Vegas later that day. Of course their flight was cancelled. Then our thoughts went out to the Hearts on Fire companies employees. They were flying out that morning to Las Vegas from Boston. We heard later that day, that everyone either made it to Las Vegas safely, or they did not end up going.
I just remember being at work, watching the news and wanting to be with my family. My daughter was only 7 months old at the time. When I came home that night, she was bouncing in her excersaucer happy as could be. She had no idea what had transpired that day. I kept thinking, the world just changed before our eyes, and my daughter will grow up in it. All I could do was hold her tight.
I can't believe it has been eight years. Although time passes, I will never forget how I felt that day. Today, I take time to remember all of the people who lost their lives, all the people who helped save others and the families of both. I also thank everyone who serves for our freedom to help prevent such a horrible tragedy happening again. We will never forget! ~ Melissa

Thinking & Change
This is something interesting to contemplate in a quiet moment. Each of us are only "one thought away" from changing our lives. We are the only creature on earth that has the power to change our thoughts. In this way we have the power to control our destiny. How we think is our freedom and our power.
